Qualifications

• 3 to 10 years of experience in structural design.
• Licensure or ability to obtain licensure in Western United States including Alaska, Washington, and Oregon.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of steel fabrication and precast concrete process.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design of floating structures including breakwaters, attenuators, docks, and debris barriers.
• Evaluate and apply environmental constraints to establish project design criteria.
• Develop structural design calculations for wave loading, hydrostatic forces, buoyancy, stability, uplift, and dynamic response of timber, concrete, and steel structures.
• Develop design of anchoring and mooring systems (chain, pile, etc.).
• Perform drafting in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor, etc.).
• Model structures and develop calculations using engineering software (Mathcad, L-Pile, RISA, SAP, etc.).
• Select and apply applicable guidelines from common codes (ACI, AISC, ASCE, PIANC, UFC, etc.).
• Perform review and approval of shop drawings and submittals.
• Contribute to project management, client communication, and proposal preparation.
• Maintain engineering standards, policies, and procedures.
• Participate in continuing education opportunities to maintain technical proficiencies.
• Mentor and collaborate with junior engineers and drafting teams.
