Job summary

Qualifications

Bachelor or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Ocean Engineering or Coastal Engineering with structural concentration.
Minimum 5 years as a registered professional engineer (PE) preferred.
Experience with wind/wave hindcasting, lateral pile analysis, dynamic analysis of floating wave attenuators, wave mechanics and loads, flotation and stability; solids modeling software such as SolidWorks preferred.

Responsibilities

Evaluate project sites for feasibility and to establish project design criteria.
Review project plans and specifications to verify criteria with site conditions.
Provide structural design and analysis for floating and fixed marine structures.
Develop project timelines and work within deadlines.
Provide ongoing monitoring and report progress to clients as agreed.
Coordinate with BMI staff to maintain project continuity and integrity.
Prepare and submit written reports as needed.
Keep abreast of emerging structural engineering technologies and practices.
