Job summary

Clayton Services in Houston is seeking a Marine Structural Engineer - EIT/PE to perform structural analysis and design for marine and waterfront projects, supporting new construction, repairs, rehabilitation, and existing assessments.

The role is a direct hire with a salary range of $100,000 to $150,000, depending on experience, and benefits including medical, dental, vision, paid time off and retirement plans. Travel as needed and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or a related engineering discipline required.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required at minimum.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred.
• 4+ years of structural engineering experience preferred.
• Marine, waterfront, port, heavy civil, or related structural engineering experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with structural inspections, rehabilitation, foundations, or waterfront structures is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis, design, and detailing for marine and waterfront structures.
• Support the design of docks, piers, wharves, bulkheads, retaining structures, foundations, and related structural systems.
• Prepare engineering calculations, specifications, drawings, reports, and cost estimates.
• Design structural components using concrete, steel, timber, and other applicable materials.
• Assist with foundation and earth-retaining system analysis and design.
• Participate in inspections and condition assessments of existing waterfront and structural facilities.
• Develop repair and rehabilitation solutions for existing structures.
• Coordinate engineering designs with other engineers, designers, drafting personnel, and project disciplines.
• Review engineering calculations and drawings for accuracy and compliance with applicable standards.
• Provide engineering support during construction, including responding to field conditions and contractor questions.
• Participate in field investigations and site visits as required.
• Work collaboratively with project teams to resolve design and construction challenges.
• Ensure engineering work meets applicable codes, specifications, and quality standards.
