QED Systems, Inc. is seeking skilled Ship fitters to work in shipyards assembling large ships and parts. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, fabricating hulls and frames, welding, riveting, and precise alignment of components on site in Virginia Beach.

Applicants must be prepared to lift up to fifty pounds, install doors and brackets, and use torches and hand/power tools. U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a U.S. Secret Clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Read blueprints and diagrams to fabricate hulls, bulkheads, and frames.
• Align parts using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, mauls, and clips.
• Install doors, hatches, brackets, and clips on ships.
• Fabricate parts and perform welding and riveting; lift at least 50 pounds.
• Set up and use torches and hand/power tools to repair/modify metal parts.
• Interpret blueprints to lay out and assemble parts.

Responsabilités

• Fabricate metal components per approved drawings and specifications.
• Rivet and weld parts; ensure alignment and fit during assembly.
• Read project blueprints and lay out parts for fabrication.
• Set up equipment and tools; modify or repair damaged metal parts as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
