Job summary

Willard Marine, Inc. is seeking a skilled Service Technician to inspect, diagnose, service, and repair marine propulsion systems and electronics. You’ll work under the Service Manager, perform dock checks and sea trials, and document all work thoroughly.

Responsibilities include fixing gas/diesel engines, ABYC-compliant electrical work, and maintaining safety and quality in outdoor/ afloat environments. Expect 70% regional/international travel and a need for a valid license and passport.

Qualifications

• 2–5+ years marine service experience with diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with multimeters, laptop diagnostics, torque/rigging tools; read wiring diagrams.
• ABYC certifications preferred; NMEA 2000 Basic Installer credential preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and passport; ability to obtain military base access.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, service, and repair marine propulsion systems and related equipment.
• Install and troubleshoot marine electrical and electronics per ABYC standards.
• Support SOLAS rescue-boat testing and documentation as required.
• Conduct dock checks and sea trials; document findings and next steps.
• Perform RIB tube/collar work, leak tests, and related maintenance.
• Create work orders, parts lists, photos, and time entries; close-out packages.
• Operate boats safely; tow/launch; use forklifts and shop equipment.
• Maintain a safe work environment per OSHA 29CFR1915; travel regionally and internationally.
