DiMillo’s Yacht Sales in Old Lyme, CT, is seeking a Marine Service Technician. The role focuses on commissioning and decommissioning boats, troubleshooting, and performing maintenance on engines, electrical systems, and onboard equipment. Strong problem solving and teamwork are essential.

Applicants should have at least two years in a marine tech role and relevant certifications. This is an in-person, full-time position with regular weekday hours and occasional weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience as a Marine Technician or in a related role.
• Strong working knowledge of marine engines, electrical systems, and marine electronics.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and troubleshooting software.

Responsibilities

• Lead boat commissioning processes, including installation, configuration, and testing of marine electronics and navigation systems.
• Perform boat decommissioning procedures, including removal of personal items, draining fluids, battery disconnection, and securing vessels for transport.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and marine system issues with accuracy and efficiency.
• Conduct maintenance and repairs on vessels, including engines, electrical systems, and onboard equipment.
• Apply varnish to interior and exterior vessel surfaces with precision and care.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair boat bottom systems, hull fittings, and underwater components.
• Conduct sea trials and testing to verify onboard system functionality and performance.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and service work performed.
