Job summary

Chesapeake Yacht Center in Maryland seeks a skilled Marine Technician to join our team. You will maintain, repair, and diagnose marine systems on a variety of vessels, delivering reliable service to boat owners and our in-house crew.

The ideal candidate has hands-on mechanical aptitude, can use hand and power tools, and maintains accurate records of work performed. You will participate in commissioning, spring startup, and seasonal decommissioning for boats 38 to 70+ feet.

Qualifications

• Experience in marine maintenance and repair.
• Proficiency with mechanical diagnostics and electrical systems.
• Ability to read technical manuals and communicate with owners.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on all types of marine systems
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on boats, including steering, propulsion, and electrical systems.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools to perform repairs and maintenance.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts used, time spent, and any additional repairs needed.
• Communicate with boat owners and other team members to ensure that repairs are completed correctly and in a timely manner.
• New boat commissioning including hull work, systems work
• Perform spring commissioning and fall decommissioning on power boats ranging from 38 to 70+.
• Self Starting and Motivated.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.

Chesapeake Yacht Center is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Marine Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for boats and possess a strong mechanical aptitude.

As a Marine Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and diagnostics of marine systems and related equipment.
