Job summary

Malibu Boats is seeking a Marine Seating Development Specialist to drive upholstery pattern development, foam design, and prototype seating from concept through production. The role involves CAD work, pattern creation for vinyl, fabric and foam, and close collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Suppliers to ensure manufacturability and cost targets.

The ideal candidate has hands-on upholstery experience, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for producing high-quality marine

Qualifications

  • Experience developing upholstery patterns for sewn products or soft goods.
  • Strong understanding of upholstery construction methods and materials.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specs, and production requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop upholstery patterns for seating systems, cushions, backrests and interior components.
  • Create and modify patterns for vinyl, fabric, foam and related components.
  • Prototype seating and upholstery assemblies for new product development and validation.
  • Develop foam shapes, templates and support components meeting design and manufacturing needs.
  • Maintain CAD drawings, templates and production documentation for CNC cutting and pattern development.
