Marine Rigger (Maintenance)

Job Responsibilities
  1. Install, maintain, repair, and replace sailboat rigging and sail systems efficiently and effectively.
  2. Unstep and step masts, assemble and disassemble spars.
  3. Tune standing rigging, connect and troubleshoot mast lights and wiring.
  4. Install booms, sails, and running rigging.
  5. Prepare sailboats for safe sailing, splice lines, service winches and furling systems.
  6. Service sailboat steering systems and deck hardware, wax and clean spars, inspect and estimate repairs.
  7. Possess own tools and be available for overtime as needed.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
Safety and Environmental Responsibilities

Follow safety and environmental policies, wear proper PPE, and report incidents immediately.

Technical and Physical Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Sailing knowledge and hoisting/crane operation experience preferred.
  • Previous experience preferred; training available.
  • ABYC or manufacturer certifications are a plus.
  • Ability to ascend/descend ladders, lift 100 pounds, and work in all weather conditions.
  • Basic boat handling skills and familiarity with boat nomenclature preferred.
  • Must carry own tools and be able to go aloft.
