Job summary

Foley, Incorporated seeks a qualified marine service technician to diagnose and repair propulsion engines, generators, and related vessel systems. You will troubleshoot, follow specifications, and perform repairs with limited supervision while maintaining safety standards.

The role requires strong technical and interpersonal skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and willingness to respond to after-hours calls. A clean driving record and valid license are essential.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience servicing marine diesel engines, generators or propulsion systems.
  • Must be able to multitask and handle multiple priorities.
  • Assist parts department with researching and ordering needed parts.
  • Strong computer skills; knowledge of SisWeb and ET preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose repair needs and perform designated repairs on marine propulsion engines and related systems.
  • Troubleshoot issues and inform Service Manager of outstanding problems.
  • Work with minimal supervision and complete tasks to specifications.
  • Verify findings, review gauge readings, and compare to specs.
  • Install, replace, rebuild, or repair parts as required and timely.
  • Follow Foley safety policies and wear PPE; maintain clean work area.
  • Respond to after-hours emergency calls as directed.
  • Test equipment after service and perform quality checks.
  • End of shift: secure equipment and complete paperwork.
