Job summary

Foley, Incorporated is seeking an experienced marine technician to diagnose and repair diesel engines, generators and propulsion systems on company and customer vessels. You will troubleshoot, perform repairs, and coordinate with the Service Manager on outstanding issues while following safety policies and procedures.

The role requires strong technical and interpersonal skills, the ability to work with limited supervision, and willingness to respond to after-hours calls.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience servicing marine diesel engines, marine generators, propulsion systems.
  • Caterpillar marine experience preferred but not required.
  • Must multitask and assist parts department; strong troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose repair needs and perform designated repairs on marine propulsion engines, generators and vessel systems as directed.
  • Troubleshoot and notify Service Manager of outstanding issues; perform tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Install, replace, rebuild, or repair parts in a timely manner and according to specs.
  • Follow Foley safety policies; wear PPE and adhere to contamination control guidelines.
  • Respond to after-hour emergencies when directed; test parts/equipment and perform quality checks.
  • Secure equipment at shift end and complete required paperwork; maintain basic computer records.
