Job summary

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support marine construction projects such as wharves, trestles, piers, dams, pump stations and storage spaces.

You will collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure timely, quality completion and may supervise engineers/interns on larger segments. The role emphasizes scheduling, cost control, safety and people management, with a path toward managerial growth within our employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field is required.
• Minimum 3 years of construction experience on marine projects.
• Advanced knowledge of construction principles and practices.
• Advanced knowledge in planning and executing self-perform work.
• Experience in managing field staff and building relationships with owners.
• Geographically mobile and able to relocate within a region.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team environment.
• Demonstrated track record of jobsite safety excellence.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager in establishing the project chart of accounts and CPM schedule.
• Provide administrative support to the Project Superintendent and leadership to project staff.
• Track and process Change Proposal Requests, Change Orders, and payment applications.
• Monitor job costs and assist in preparing quantity reports and profit records.
• Assist in establishing and leading the on-site Total Quality Management process.
• Manage preparation and execution of the Project closeout process.
• Implement all applicable safety programs.
