Job summary

Cobalt Boats in Cobalt, KS is seeking a Process Engineer to develop, optimize, and maintain manufacturing processes used in boat production. You will focus on safety, quality, cost, and delivery while analyzing methods and implementing improvements across the manufacturing lifecycle.

The role involves supporting cross-functional teams, creating standard work, process flow diagrams, and routings; driving Lean Six Sigma initiatives; and ensuring compliance with ISO, ABYC, and marine standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
• 2-5 years of process or manufacturing engineering experience (marine, aerospace, automotive, or composites preferred)
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Experience with process documentation and continuous improvement tools (Lean/Six Sigma/Kaizen)
• Proficiency in MS Office and CAD experience
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Process Development & Optimization: Design, document, and improve manufacturing processes
• Production Support: Provide day-to-day engineering support to production teams and troubleshoot issues
• Quality & Compliance: Ensure processes meet quality standards and marine regulations; assist with RCA
• Cost & Efficiency Improvement: Identify opportunities to reduce waste, cycle time, and rework
• Equipment & Tooling: Specify and support manufacturing equipment, tools, and fixtures
• Documentation & Training: Create process docs, train personnel, support knowledge transfer
