Job summary

Ilmor is seeking a Marine Development Engineer to advance next-gen marine powertrain technologies. You will design and run tests on propulsion systems, analyze data, and bring concepts to reality in a collaborative team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in electrical or test engineering or prototype design.
  • Experience with instrumentation equipment and verification testing.
  • Knowledge of marine powertrain systems and their electrical components.
  • Experience with industry-standard testing and certification processes.
  • Familiarity with marine industry standards and regulations.
  • Experience with CAD software.
  • Understanding of PCB layouts and ability to troubleshoot PCB problems.
  • Knowledge of power electronics and motor control systems.
  • Hands-on prototype building and testing including soldering and assembly.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate tests and apparatuses for development programs.
  • Create, organize, and execute DVPs/DRs for products in development.
  • Conduct testing and certification to meet industry standards.
  • Conceptualize and assemble prototype designs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to test and validate designs on boats.
  • Build prototypes and troubleshoot issues during development.
  • Interface with suppliers regarding quality and supply chain management.
  • Document design processes, test results and modifications for future reference.
  • Perform varied tasks in a small company environment.
