Job summary

Lane Construction seeks an experienced Superintendent to lead earthwork and roadwork operations, coordinating field crews and self-performed work to meet schedules and budgets. You will oversee grading, drainage, paving and structures, while enforcing safety and quality on busy highway projects.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple crews and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience with a Heavy/Highway contractor at $100M+ project level.
• Strong decision making and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience leading field crews and coordinating subcontractors.
• Familiarity with DOT standards and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee field personnel, daily/weekly schedules, and construction operations.
• Supervise grading, drainage, paving, structures, and crews on a daily basis.
• Provide leadership and direction to construction personnel.
• Coordinate work with other Superintendents and subcontractors.
• Assist in On-the-Job training.
• Emphasize safety, quality and production, leading by example.
• Assist Engineers with quantities and productions.
• Coordinate equipment and crews to maximize efficiency.
• Attend status meetings to discuss progress and public impact.
• Assist estimators and engineers during pursuit of new work.
• Develop and train Superintendents, Engineers, Foremen and Craft Workers.
• Ensure resources assigned are maintained, protected and used efficiently.
• Protect and enhance public relations, company image and value.
• Understand project budgets and productions to manage personnel and equipment.
• Train Foremen through mentoring.
• Assist with survey and field layout.
• Carry out job duties while maintaining Lane values.
