Yamaha Motor US in Kennesaw, GA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II for its Marine team. This role focuses on design, development, documentation and release of watercraft products, with emphasis on early development and cross-functional collaboration.

The candidate leads multidisciplinary teams, oversees prototype testing, and coordinates with suppliers and production. A BS in Mechanical Engineering and 5–7 years of relevant experience are expected, with travel to test sites and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• 5-7 years' experience designing consumer or industrial products at mid to high level volumes.
• Experience in designing consumer products for the marine industry preferred.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers.
• Willingness to travel to Japan, suppliers and test sites.

Responsibilities

• Design, development, documentation, and transfer of new products to factory engineering team, including 3D models, 2D drawings, and Bills of Materials.
• Provide suppliers with necessary design information to develop components/systems while meeting Yamaha standards.
• Oversee fabrication of prototypes and pre-production components for testing.
• Coordinate testing and analyze results to guide design changes.
• Manage product development processes to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Provide technical support for suppliers and factories.
• Perform other duties as required.
