Job summary

Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II for the Marine team in Kennesaw, GA. You will design, develop, and transfer new watercraft products, creating 3D models, drawings, and BOMs for production.

You will coordinate prototype fabrication, testing, and provide design data to suppliers. The role requires 5-7 years in product design, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and travel to Japan and supplier sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar required.
• 5-7 years' experience designing consumer or industrial products at mid to high volumes.
• Experience in designing consumer products for marine industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, and transfer new products to factory engineering team including creation of 3D models, 2D drawings, Bills of Materials.
• Provide suppliers with design information to develop components/systems per Yamaha standards.
• Oversee fabrication of prototypes and pre-production components for testing and evaluation.
• Coordinate laboratory and on-water testing; analyze results to determine design changes.
• Manage product development processes to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery using Yamaha processes.
