Job summary

Crest is seeking a Mechanical/Design Engineer to design, develop, and improve marine mechanical systems for Chaparral boats. Working under the Director of Engineering, you will support projects to ensure quality, performance, and safety while performing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to validate designs.

You will develop Bills of Materials, maintain 3-D CAD models and drawings, and coordinate with suppliers and the Service Department to translate concepts into producible parts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in marine design and mechanical background with knowledge of production process.
• Strong background in computer aided design and engineering.
• Committed to quality and standards accepted by societies and industry.
• Must interface well with other employees and be a team player.
• Working knowledge of PC based software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Product development and improvement of marine mechanical systems.
• Create and maintain 3-D CAD models and detailed drawings.
• Coordinate with suppliers and service departments to implement designs.
• Support manufacturing and assembly processes for production.
• Perform design validation and support testing of prototypes.
