Job summary

Chaparral Boats Inc. is seeking a Mechanical/Design Engineer to assist in the design, development, and improvement of mechanical systems for Chaparral boats. The role involves FEA, optimization for manufacturing and assembly, and collaboration with engineering leadership on multiple projects.

You will develop 3-D CAD models, create detailed drawings, and support vendors and production teams while maintaining quality and safety standards across all products.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in marine design and mechanical background with knowledge of production process.
• Strong background in computer aided design and engineering.
• Committed to quality and standards accepted by societies and industry.
• Must interface well with other employees, the public and be a team player.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve mechanical systems and components for Chaparral boats.
• Use FEA to validate designs and ensure structural integrity.
• Develop BOMs and assembly layouts on drawings.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers on parts and applications.
• Support production with design reviews and problem solving.
• Interface with Sales, Production, and Supply Management to implement improvements.
• Create and maintain 3-D CAD models and engineering drawings.
• Provide technical support to Service Department.
