Chaparral Boats Inc. seeks an Electrical Engineer to define requirements and specifications for marine electrical panels, wiring harnesses and systems, ensuring ABYC compliance through testing.

You will drive design concepts, generate 2D drawings and schematics, and interface with propulsion, design and manufacturing teams for optimal layouts. You will review load calculations, support field installations, and verify final products with rigorous testing.

Qualificações

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Training in CAD and ability to produce 2D drawings, schematics and wire lists.
• Familiarity with 3D modeling software (Rhino, SolidWorks, etc.).
• Working knowledge of PC-based software (Word, Excel, AutoCAD, etc.).

Responsabilidades

• Define requirements and component specifications for panels, wiring harnesses and electrical systems.
• Ensure component and system compliance with industry standards or acquire through certification/testing.
• Conceive new electrical and electronic system designs for customer convenience and manufacturability.
• Conduct product research on electrical and electronic equipment and components.
• Interface with propulsion, systems, design and manufacturing groups for system layouts.
• Generate engineering drawings and approve electrical prints for boat release to vendors and manufacturing.
• Review and approve load calculations based on ABYC standards for AC and DC systems.
• Determine shore power configuration and generator size (120-V, 240-V, 50/60 Hz).
• Provide manufacturing with technical support including troubleshooting and system verification.
• Perform design verification tests and develop DVPR criteria.
