Job summary

Systems Application & Technologies, Inc. (SA-TECH) is seeking a Marine Mechanic (Engineering Technician, Maintenance III) at Naval Station Norfolk, VA. You will perform preventative maintenance, service, repair and testing of marine engines onboard small boats, ensuring systems operate safely under real conditions.

Candidate should have 5+ years in maritime engine repair, relevant training, and the ability to obtain DoD security clearance. CDL is preferred; U.S. citizenship required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Navy/Coast Guard or OEM training preferred.
• 5+ years maritime engine repair experience.
• Ability to read and follow technical directives.
• Familiarity with common outboard motors is a plus.
• OEM certifications desirable.
• Familiarity with MTU, Cummins, Caterpillar, or Steyr diesel engines a plus.
• CDL license desired with clean driving record.
• Familiarity with operating, maintaining and repairing small craft trailers, transporters, and prime movers a plus.
• US citizenship and ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment onboard naval small boats and evaluate system performance while underway.
• Install, service, repair and test marine engines.
• Perform work safely in accordance with industry standards.
