Job summary

Walloon Central Marine is hiring a Marine Mechanic I to diagnose and repair marine engines and drivetrains, electrical systems, and related components. You will estimate repair costs and perform service according to ABYC standards at our full-service marina near Walloon Lake, MI.

Responsibilities include inspecting boats, listing issues with recommendations, performing preventative maintenance, water testing, and maintaining detailed service records.

Qualifications

• Accurately estimate repair projects and communicate results.

Marine Mechanic I: Walloon Central Marine is a full service marina. Currently an Authorized dealer for Bennington Pontoons, Parker Boats, Ilmor Engines, Volvo-Penta, and Yamaha Outboards. We’re looking for a year-round, full-time Marine Technician I, marine technician who can diagnose issues and solve problems.

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair marine (inboard, I/O, outboard) engines, transmissions and drivetrains, electrical systems and electronics, and common marine mechanical systems.

Accurately and efficiently estimate repair projects

Perform all work to ABYC standards

Inspect boats and create a detailed list of issues, potential issues, and create recommendations for our customers.

Recommend and perform routine preventative maintenance, including fall decommissioning and spring commissioning processes

Water test boats and personal watercraft.

Maintain detailed records to document all work completed

Maintain strong knowledge of all marine systems and technology.

Job Type: Full-time, 12 months. Seasonal Overtime

Compensation: $19.75-$30.00
