Job description

We are seeking a Marine Technician to perform repairs and service on a variety of different style boats and marine motors. Capability to ensure proper repair and service of boats, motors, mechanical and electrical systems is required. Knowledge of boats, marine engines and outdrives, electrical and other systems and their components is required. Specific experience and/or certifications with Mercury, Volvo, Suzuki, and Honda marine motors and diagnostic tools is a plus. A set of basic personal tools is needed. Specific tools will be made available by the company. Hourly pay plus job/incentive pay (up to $40 per hour) depending on experience and performance.

Responsibilities

• Ability to inspect and diagnose boats, engines, outdrives, transmissions, and various systems on boats.
• Run diagnostic tests as needed to determine functional issues and make needed repairs
• Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner
• Perform thorough maintenance on engines and systems
• Ability to install all types of marine accessory items.
• Ability to document work tasks and appropriately keep detailed log work/time
• Communicate effectively with co-workers and customers
• Ability to follow established procedures and practices and be trainable

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a mechanic
