The Hinckley Company, based in Oxford, MD, is seeking a Marine Diesel Mechanic to keep our high-performance yachts running at peak condition. You will work on engines from Yanmar, Volvo Penta, Cummins, Caterpillar, and Hamilton water jets using OEM diagnostics and hands-on troubleshooting.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in marine mechanics, ABYC certification preferred, and the ability to work in varied weather on-site.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in marine mechanics (preferred).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in confined spaces.
• Valid driver’s license; background check required.
• Pass a pre-employment background check.
• Experience with OEM diagnostics software is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Diagnostics: use OEM software and tools to diagnose and repair vessels.
• Repairs: perform repairs, preventative maintenance, and overhauls.
• Product lines: service Hamilton water jets, Yanmar, Volvo Penta, Cummins, Caterpillar, or FPT engines.
• Safety compliance: adhere to safety standards and guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

As a Marine Diesel Mechanic, you’ll be part of a skilled team that keeps high-performance vessels running at their best. Responsibilities

• Diagnostics: Use OEM software, tools, and technologies to maintain, diagnose, troubleshoot, and complete repairs.
• Repairs: Perform skilled tasks in the diagnosis of malfunctions, repairs, preventative maintenance, adjustments, and overhauls.
• Product Lines: Must be comfortable working on all boat systems; Hamilton water jets, Yanmar, Volvo Penta, Cummins, Caterpillar, or FPT engines.
• Safety Compliance: Performing all work to safety standards and guidelines.
• Other: All duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum one (3) year of experience in marine mechanics or related fields.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in confined spaces.
• Certifications: ABYC certification (preferred). Must hold a valid driver’s license.
• Pre-Employment: All applicants must be able to successfully pass a background check as a condition of employment.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with diagnostic software, hand and power tools.
• Experience installing marine mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of onboard plumbing systems, hydraulic system installations, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Ability to write condition reports, prepare estimates, and plan projects.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Work Environment

• Location: On-site
• Conditions: Ability to work in varying weather conditions. Elements such as dust, dirt, fumes, vibration, noise, and chemicals may be present.
• Schedule: Full-time
