Job summary

AdvanSix in Virginia seeks a Material Handler in Marine Operations to support barge and vessel loading, unloading, and material transfers. This role includes operating payloader, Bobcat, forklift, and conveyors, with 12-hour rotating shifts and a focus on safety and PPE.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Able to perform duties wearing required PPE.
• Computer competency.

Responsibilities

• Ammonium Sulfate Barge/Vessel loading.
• Clean and maintain Marine Operations areas.
• Transfer raw materials between storage and other areas.
• Operate valves and pumps as needed.
• Unload raw materials by vessel, truck, and railcar.
• Dock barges/vessels and manage weights.
• Inspect payloader; operate payloader, Bobcat, forklift.
• Snow removal Plant-wide using heavy equipment.
• Operate conveyor systems and ensure safety of vehicles.
• Support corporate and facility policies; adapt to shift 12-hour rotations.
• Flex to changing priorities and emergencies.
