Job summary

North Wind Group is seeking a Marine Mammals Systems Assistant I to support 24/7 operations with veterinary and biotech staff. You will assist with vitamins/medication delivery, tailored diets, and routine procedures to care for the mammal population.

The role requires a basic open water scuba certification, flexibility for nights/weekends, and the ability to travel internationally on short notice. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marine Biology or related field with basic open water scuba certification and 1 year experience.
• One year animal training experience with basic scuba certification and high school diploma or equivalent.
• USCG license or Navy Coxswain certification with related experience and high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Monitor animal behaviors and wellness and report observations.
• Perform body inspections and assess wellbeing during sessions and feedings.
• Provide diving support and assist with open water sessions.
• Record session data and animal performance.
• Assist with basic animal husbandry and diet preparation.
• Operate watercraft and support transport of animals as needed.
• Travel with animals for extended periods as required.
