Job summary

Quality-Marine in Los Angeles, CA is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to maintain accurate livestock inventory records in our marine fish, coral, and invertebrate warehouses. You will perform daily counts and ensure inventory reflects shipments.

The ideal candidate can identify marine species, has basic computer skills and Excel, and pays close attention to details. You will learn inventory software; weekend/overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Identify marine fish, corals, and invertebrates.
• Basic computer skills and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to learn and use inventory management software.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (eight hours per shift).
• Dependability, good communication, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Repeated visual inspection and counting of livestock.
• Weekend and/or overtime work may be required.
• Previous inventory control or warehouse experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily physical counts of fish, corals, and invertebrates and compare them against known inventory records.
• Identify and correct misidentified livestock and inaccurate size classifications in the inventory system.
• Review shipments after arrival for potential identification and sizing errors.
• Update inventory records accurately.
• Investigate discrepancies and report unresolved issues.
• Work with warehouse team members to maintain accurate and organized inventory records.
• Invoice pre-entry.
• Processing return shipments.
• Support inventory movements and opening space for new arrivals.
