Job summary

Alief Independent School District's Hastings High School in Houston, Texas, is seeking a Marine Instructor for 2026-2027 to support the Senior Marine Instructor and administer the MJROTC program.

You will lead cadets in leadership and drill, manage equipment and supply orders, supervise teams, and assist teachers and administrators, with duties extending to safety protocols and program evaluation.

Qualifications

• Must be certified by U.S. Marines for employment as a marine instructor for NJROTC.
• Ability to interpret data and evaluate teaching effectiveness.
• Ability to manage budget and personnel.
• Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills.
• No prior teaching experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Marine Instructor in all duties not prohibited by policy or law.
• Provide instruction in leadership and drill portions of the curriculum for cadets in grades 9-12.
• Manage equipment custodian and supply orders for the MJROTC department.
• Provide academic instruction to first-year cadets as directed by SMI.
• Supervise cadet drill teams and color guard during training and performances.
• Oversee the Cadet Drug Awareness Presentation Team and its training.
• Assist teachers and administrators as a chaperone and for crowd control.
• Perform senior instructor duties when SMI is absent.
