FCS Marine is seeking a skilled Marine Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technician to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of air conditioning systems on marine vessels. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of marine HVAC systems, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to ensuring the comfort and safety of all vessel procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation: Install, calibrate, and test new marine air conditioning systems and refrigeration systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and inspections on existing HVAC systems and refrigeration systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Repair: Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in air conditioning systems and refrigeration systems, including compressors, evaporators, condensers, and associated components.
- Troubleshooting: Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to identify issues and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
- Compliance: Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with safety regulations, maritime standards, and company policies.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with vessel Owners or Captains, addressing their concerns, and offering professional advice on HVAC systems and refrigeration systems care.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other Technicians and marine Engineers to complete projects efficiently and support team objectives.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in HVAC or marine systems .
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience working with marine air conditioning systems or in a similar HVAC role.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of marine HVAC systems, refrigeration, and air conditioning principles.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Certifications:
- EPA Section 608 Certification or equivalent for refrigerant handling.
- Additional certifications related to marine systems or electrical systems are a plus.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
- Capable of lifting and carrying heavy equipment.
- Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions.
- Other Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
