Job summary

Summit Fire & Security is seeking a Marine Service Technician to install and service fire systems on marine vessels. The role involves inspections, testing, and repair of extinguishers, suppression systems, and alarms.

Travel is extensive (up to 90% locally; Alaska and Portland travel after training) with comprehensive training provided. A HS diploma and 0–2 years of marine fire life safety experience are required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
• 0–2 years of Fire Life Safety industry experience, specifically in marine applications.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist with inspection, service and installation of fire systems in marine settings.
• Use power tools and test equipment to repair or replace extinguishers and system components.
• Maintain knowledge of NFPA codes and marine fire safety standards.
• Troubleshoot defective components in marine suppression systems.
• Document work orders and communicate with customers professionally.
• Travel up to 90% locally, with some travel to Alaska and Portland after training.
