Job summary

The Hiller Companies, LLC has an immediate opening for a Marine Service Technician. The Marine Installation Technician will travel worldwide to install, inspect, maintain and repair fire protection equipment on marine vessels. Travel may be required on short notice due to ship schedules and safety-critical operations.

The role emphasizes high responsibility, customer service, and adherence to safety procedures as lives and assets depend on precise work every day.

Qualifications

• Must be DOT certified to perform hydrostatic testing of pressurized cylinders.
• Understand safety procedures and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Must be willing to travel with short notice to marine vessels worldwide.
• Experience with installation, inspection, maintenance and repair of fire protection systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Attend numerous class marine vessels worldwide to install, inspect, maintain and repair fire protection equipment.
• Travel may be required with short notice due to marine work on ships.
• Demonstrate high level of responsibility as lives and assets depend on quality of work.
• Assist Lead Technicians with installation, inspection, maintenance and repair of systems.
• Perform hydrostatic testing of firehoses and inspections of extinguishers and safety systems.
• Support testing of Water Mist, Fire Suppression, Galley Hood Washdown, and Fire Detection systems.
