Job summary

Glosten, a naval architecture and marine engineering firm, is seeking student interns to join our Seattle, WA and Providence, RI teams. This internship offers exposure to naval architecture, marine engineering, ocean engineering, analysis, and marine construction on real maritime projects.

You will work closely with a group lead and associates to apply coursework to practical challenges, including modeling, drafting, and design tasks, with potential for future opportunities after graduation.

Qualifications

• Strong academic background in naval architecture, marine engineering, hydrodynamics or related fields.
• Excellent communication and ability to work in interdisciplinary teams.
• Interest in pursuing opportunities with potential permanent employment after graduation.
• Authorized to work in the United States; eligible for TN visas.
• Available for full-time, 40 hours per week internship lasting ~8 weeks in winter (Jan–Feb).

Responsibilities

• Assist with finite element modeling and structural analysis; seakeeping analysis; resistance and propulsion calculations; stability analysis; climatology; mooring analysis; piping systems; electrical load analysis; mechanical system commissioning; 2D drafting; 3D modeling; other tasks as needed.
