Job summary

Hornblower Corp seeks a seasoned Third Assistant Engineer to maintain the vessel's engineering plant and supervise engineers. The role enforces USCG, FCC and IMO standards, supports safe vessel operation, and requires training junior engineers. A USCG Unlimited Horsepower license, STCW 95, TWIC and a valid passport are required, along with five years of marine experience. Rotational onboard position.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred from maritime academy or related field.
• Third Assistant Engineer Unlimited Horsepower USCG License.
• STCW 95 Certificate.
• TWIC card required.
• US Passport required.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic skills.
• Five years of marine engineering experience with increasing responsibility.
• Ability to obtain Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain vessel systems per USCG, FCC and IMO standards.
• Understudy the Chief Engineer and act in their absence.
• Perform preventive maintenance and manage spare parts.
• Train new engineers and supervise engineering crew.
• Maintain safe, clean engine room and logs.
• Conduct drills with marine and non-marine crew.
• Rotational onboard position: 56 days on, 56 days off (+).
• Ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
