Job summary

Centerline Logistics is seeking a skilled engine room technician to maintain vessel propulsion and auxiliary systems. You will perform start-up/shut-down procedures, troubleshoot engines, and handle preventive maintenance on diesel engines and gears aboard tugs and barges.

Responsibilities include engine room upkeep, deck work, line handling, and safe operation under captain or mate supervision. Candidates should have two years of marine diesel experience and hold MMC/DDE Unlimited, plus

Qualifications

Two years previous work experience on marine diesels.
MMC and DDE Unlimited certification.
Must complete firefighting training within 6 months of hire.
Valid state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Engine room preventive maintenance and underway repairs on main engines and gears, pumps, motors, and generators.
Perform routine maintenance on tug and barge operations and monitor engine room equipment readings.
Maintain daily log and keep engine room clean and ready for operation.
Perform deck work including knot tying, line handling, and towing line services.
Load supplies, perform galley duties, and manage general cleanup of tugs and barges.
