Job summary
Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College seeks an experienced Marine Electronics Instructor to prepare and teach a full range of marine electronics techniques to non-credit workforce students. You will cover theory, installation, diagnostics, calibration, testing, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance for shipboard systems.
The incumbent will supervise students, maintain records, and stay current with industry standards and shipbuilding practices, reporting to the Workforce Project
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years' full-time marine electronics experience.
- Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, manuals, and equipment specs.
- Proficient with electronic testing, calibration, and diagnostic equipment.
- Knowledge of low-voltage/digital controls and industry standards.
- Ability to train a diverse group of learners.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and teach a full range of marine electronics techniques to non-credit workforce students/trainees.
- Instructor may cover shipboard communications, navigation equipment, sensors, control systems, and related electronics technologies.
- Report to Workforce Project Director and maintain accurate attendance and performance records.
- Supervise and guide students, provide real-time feedback to improve technical skills.
- Stay current with industry technology and shipbuilding practices.
