Job summary

Andrenam is seeking an Electrical Engineer Intern to join our electrical design team and work on the same kind of hardware our engineers build every day. This is a hands-on internship focused on troubleshooting and testing for the sensing and autonomy systems we deploy in the ocean.

This is a summer 2027 internship, and we are also open to a spring 2027 start for the right candidate. You won't be sitting on the sidelines.

Qualifications

Pursuing or recently completed a degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, mechatronics, or a related field.
Hands-on hardware experience through coursework, personal projects, or student engineering teams, with at least one project you can walk through in detail.
Comfortable with lab tools like oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and soldering irons.
Exposure to PCB design, hardware troubleshooting, or CAD.
Strong problem-solving instincts and a willingness to dig into unfamiliar problems.
Clear communication and a track record of working well with others.

Responsibilities

Test and troubleshoot boards and assemblies, including performance and reliability testing.
Diagnose hardware failures and identify root cause and verify fixes.
Support integration of hardware with software and participate in system-level troubleshooting.
Help develop and run test procedures that make our hardware more reliable in the field.
Read and work from schematics and layouts to trace issues and suggest improvements.
Document test procedures, results, and fixes so the team can build on your work after your internship.
