Job summary

SubSea Craft is a fast growing, privately-funded UK-based innovative maritime technology company. We are seeking a hardware-focused engineer to support the development of electrical systems from concept to production, with opportunities to assemble and test prototype systems in our on-site facilities.

Applicants should have a marine electrical background with at least 2 years of industry experience, and a degree or apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics.

Qualifications

• Marine electrical background with minimum of 2 years industry experience, completed an apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering or a degree in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Experience working with 3D CAD systems is advantageous but not critical.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of electrical systems from early concept stages through to testing ready for production.
• Assist in the preparation of technical documentation, such as test requirements and design documentation supporting material.
• Help to assemble and test prototype systems in our on-site facilities, capturing lessons learnt and exploring how the products can be improved.
• Capture and document decisions, learn, explore and absorb new technologies to help build a better product.
• Collaborate with Senior Engineers to review and validate design work.
• Contribute to concept discussions and reading of supporting material to absorb design information.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date design data using established processes.
• Take part in team design reviews and contribute constructively to continuous improvement.
• Observe and learn from cross-functional experts working with electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and cooling systems.
