Job summary

Bristol Bay Native Corporation is seeking a Marine Support Technician to support operations aboard the USEPA Research Vessel Lake Explorer II. This role requires experience in mechanical and electrical systems, and involves extended sampling trips on the Great Lakes with heavy physical duties.

The ideal candidate will assist in vessel maintenance, operate heavy machinery, and ensure cleanliness of living quarters. A valid US Passport is necessary for the 2026 sailing season, alongside physical readiness for a demanding work environment.

Qualifications

  • US Passport valid for the entirety of the 2026 sailing season.
  • Experience with operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Basic computer skills for email communication and administrative duties.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with service, maintenance, and repair of shipboard systems.
  • Operate heavy machinery and serve as Deckhand/Assistant Engineer.
  • Participate in general upkeep of vessel spaces.
