Job summary

Malibu Boats in Loudon, TN, is seeking a Quality Engineer focused on Cut & Sew for marine components. The role partners with production, engineering, and supply chain to drive continuous improvement and implement robust quality systems that meet world-class standards.

You will lead process auditing and PPAP activities while reducing defects and cost of poor quality. The ideal candidate has 8+ years in quality roles, strong knowledge of SPC/FMEA/Control Plans, and experience in manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field (or equivalent).
• Equivalent >8 years related quality experience.
• 3+ years in manufacturing shop-floor quality roles.
• Strong knowledge of SPC, FMEA, Control Plans and MSA.
• Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; collaborative mindset.
• Familiarity with PPAP processes and supplier quality practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead plant-level quality activities to ensure products meet specs and customer expectations.
• Analyze and reduce scrap, rework, and process defects across all stages.
• Develop/maintain control plans, work instructions, and QA documentation.
• Lead layered process audits and product audits for compliance.
• Drive CAPA via 8D/A3/5 Whys methodologies and validate actions.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Design, Supplier Quality, and Production teams.
• Support NPI to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet quality standards.
• Interface with customers on quality issues and corrective actions.
• Support internal/external audits and quality system compliance.
• Develop PPAPs and supplier qualification activities as needed.
