Job summary

Dexian is seeking a Cost Estimator in Houston, TX to design execution plans and develop cost estimates for large-scale dredging projects, collaborating with a seasoned estimating team.

The role focuses on producing accurate estimates for hard bid projects, reviewing plans, and presenting during bid reviews, with on-site support during execution. Hybrid work with limited travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management or equivalent.
• 3 years dredging/marine construction experience or 5 years cost estimating experience.
• Experience with marine construction projects such as ports, channels or coastal works.
• Exposure to dredging equipment and field engineering activities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proficient with MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate cost estimates for hard bid projects.
• Review and summarize key elements of project plans and specs.
• Create clear overview drawings for presentations and discussions.
• Present project and estimate during bid reviews with senior management.
• Support on-site Project Managers with estimating during execution.
• Update and monitor project costs and budgets throughout construction.
• Collaborate with support departments in a team environment.
• Travel for training on a limited basis.
