Job summary

TRCTalent, in partnership with a leading manufacturer in the recreational vehicle area, seeks a CAE Engineer to develop marine propellers and apply advanced analysis techniques from concept through production. You will evaluate products and advance new designs from proof of concept to production.

Responsibilities include developing propellers, planning on-water testing, implementing CAE processes, and performing FEA to support cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Marine Engineering. Master's or PhD preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience designing consumer or industrial products.
  • 3+ years of experience in marine industry product design preferred.
  • Proven experience in cross-functional teams.
  • Proven experience applying FEA to product development, experience with NX NASTRAN/STAR-CCM+ preferred.
  • Highly skilled with 3D CAD tools like Solidworks, NX, CAESES, etc.
  • Experience or project work using formal optimization techniques preferred.
  • Experience with 1-way and 2-way coupled CFD/FEA preferred.
  • Programming in Matlab, C/C++, Python, etc.
  • Willingness to travel to internationally, to suppliers, and to testing sites as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop marine propellers for outboard engines and other marine products through analysis of hydrodynamics, structural mechanics, and manufacturability.
  • Coordination and planning of on-water testing and evaluation from proof of concept through production.
  • Develop and implement advanced CAE processes for design of marine products.
  • FEA analysis to support product development on cross-functional teams.
  • Learn established development processes and assist with continuous process improvement to improve efficiency
