Job summary

Holland America-Princess (Holland America Dawson City Inn) is seeking an Assistant Engineer in Juneau to assist the Chief Engineer with maintenance, operation and repair of vessel systems. You will support diesel propulsion, electrical generation, hotel systems and related equipment, reporting on work performed and ensuring safety standards.

Strong knowledge of shipboard engineering, the ability to work in confined spaces and a proactive, self-starting attitude are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with diesel propulsion and electrical generation systems.
• Computer experience with Excel, Word, and SharePoint required.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and handle high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance checks and record work.
• Assist with engineering, deck, and hotel maintenance programs.
• Complete maintenance tasks as directed by Chief Engineer or Master.
• Participate in yearly shipyards.
• Assist Chief Engineer in operations.
