Job summary

Summerset Marine Construction seeks an Aluminum Welder Fabricator to fabricate, weld, repair, and modify barges and piers to exact drawings in a marine setting. Strong aluminum MIG/TIG welds, blueprint reading, and outdoor work are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years welding experience with aluminum preferred.
• Experience with MIG and/or TIG welding (aluminum preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
• Experience with marine equipment, barges, or structural fabrication is a plus.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 100 pounds and outdoor work.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform aluminum welding and fabrication on barges and marine equipment.
• Use MIG/TIG welding techniques for aluminum and steel.
• Cut and prepare raw materials to specified dimensions.
• Read and follow blueprints and drawings accurately.
• Work in shop and field environments, including outdoor marine settings.
• Adhere to schedules and complete tasks on time.
• Inspect work to maintain quality standards.
• Safety compliance and tidy workspace.
• Collaborate with team and troubleshoot improvements.
