Job summary

Summerset Marine Construction in Wisconsin is seeking an Aluminum Welder Fabricator to fabricate, weld, repair, and modify barges and piers to exact drawings in a marine manufacturing setting.

You will perform aluminum welding with MIG/TIG, read blueprints, work in shop and field environments, and uphold safety and quality while meeting production goals. Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of welding experience with aluminum and a high school diploma, capable of heavy lifting and outdoor work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years welding experience with emphasis on aluminum.
• Experience with MIG and/or TIG welding (aluminum preferred).
• Able to read blueprints and fabrication drawings.
• Experience with marine equipment, barges, or structural fabrication is a plus.
• Proficient with power tools and fabrication equipment.
• Able to work outdoors in marine environments.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Dependable, self-motivated, able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform aluminum welding and fabrication on barges, marine equipment, and structural components.
• Utilize MIG/TIG welding techniques for aluminum and steel as needed.
• Cut and prepare raw materials to specified dimensions.
• Repair and reinforce barge and pier components, including decking and supports.
• Read and follow blueprints and production drawings accurately.
• Work in shop and field environments, outdoor marine settings.
• Follow production schedules and complete tasks on time.
• Inspect completed work to maintain quality standards.
• Adhere to safety procedures and keep workspace clean and organized.
• Report hazards or equipment issues promptly.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors; participate in problem solving.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
