Job summary

Summerset Marine Construction is seeking an Aluminum Welder Fabricator to join our team. You will fabricate, weld, and repair barges and piers in a marine manufacturing environment, with a strong emphasis on aluminum welding and fabricating to exact drawings.

The role requires reading blueprints, working in shop and field settings, and maintaining quality while adhering to safety standards. Join us to support waterfront projects along southeastern Wisconsin and beyond.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of welding experience, with aluminum welding preferred.
• Experience with MIG and/or TIG welding (aluminum preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
• Experience with marine equipment, barges, or structural fabrication is a plus.
• Proficient with power tools and fabrication equipment.
• Ability to work in physically demanding and outdoor environments.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or on a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform aluminum welding and fabrication on barges and marine equipment.
• Use MIG/TIG welding techniques for aluminum and steel applications.
• Cut and prepare raw materials to specified dimensions.
• Repair and reinforce barge and pier components.
• Read blueprints and production drawings accurately.
• Work in shop and field outdoor marine environments.
• Follow production schedules and complete tasks on time.
• Inspect work to maintain quality standards.
• Report hazards or equipment issues promptly.
• Collaborate with team and supervisors.
• Participate in troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
