Job summary

The Boat House in Elk Horn, IA is seeking a reliable Pier & Lift Crew Member to support marina operations outdoors. You will help build, repair, service, and remove piers and boat lifts, and you will assist with marina and dock maintenance while staying safe near the water.

This role requires physical stamina (50–75 lb lifts), a teamwork mindset, and flexibility including Saturdays. Mechanical or carpentry knowledge is a plus, and forklift experience is beneficial.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read safety rules and operating instructions.
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
• Strong problem-solving skills with equipment and docks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with building, repairing, servicing, and removing piers and boat lifts at assigned locations.
• Drive and haul boats as needed for marina and service operations.
• Work comfortably on and around the water while maintaining safety procedures.
• Assist with marina and dock maintenance tasks.
• Operate equipment and tools required for pier and lift installation and repair.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Represent The Boat House professionally with customers and team members.
• Work collaboratively with the Pier & Lift Manager, Service team, and other crew members.
