Job summary

Captain's Club in Tuscaloosa, AL is seeking a part-time Marina Market Attendant who can learn quickly and deliver friendly service in a fast-paced hospitality setting. This role centers on sales, guest assistance, and merchandise support within a marina market environment.

You will handle opening/closing duties, manage transactions, help guests with merchandise, rotate stock, keep displays tidy, and perform regular store cleaning. Bartending knowledge is a plus or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Performs opening and closing procedures for the store.
• Responsible for accountability of all sales and money transactions made.
• Collects applicable fees from patrons as they arrive.
• Assists guests by selling merchandise and providing information in a professional manner.
• Assists with rotating stock and keeping displays clean and orderly.
• Assists with general cleaning of the shop or store.
• Assists with periodic physical inventories.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Generate tickets for gas purchases, drinks, boats and equipment rentals.
• Performs other duties as required.
• Must have bartending knowledge or able to learn.

Captain's Club, located in Tuscaloosa, AL, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a part-time, seasonal Marina Market Attendant! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization.

Role Type: Seasonal (Position will last 6 months or less)

Responsibilities:

• Provide friendly, professional, and attentive service to members and guests.
• Perform daily opening and closing procedures for the Market.
• Process retail, food, beverage, and marina transactions accurately through the point-of-sale system.
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including wine, beer, and specialty cocktails.
• Assist customers with retail merchandise, product recommendations, and purchases.
• Maintain clean, organized, and visually appealing retail displays.
• Restock merchandise, beverages, and other Market inventory as needed.
• Assist with receiving deliveries, organizing stock, and completing periodic inventory counts.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the Market, bar, and surrounding service areas.
• Follow all applicable alcohol service regulations, safety procedures, and company policies.
• Assist with Market promotions, special events, and member experiences as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Friendly, outgoing, and professional demeanor.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous retail, hospitality, or bartending experience preferred but not required.
• Willingness to learn basic bartending and beverage service.
• Comfortable handling card transactions and operating a point-of-sale system.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, and special events.
• Must meet applicable age requirements for serving alcoholic beverages.
