Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 2-5 years marina experience preferred.
• Must be able to swim.

• Knowledge of dock construction/repair preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees berthing, mooring, storage and servicing of boats within the marina.
• Manage maintenance work across the facility.
• Daily inspection to provide a clean and safe facility.
• Hire, train, and supervise teammates; lead by example.
• Safely operate marina vehicles.
• Provide exceptional customer service for Members and incoming boats.
• Coordinate and run Member events.

The Marina Manager is responsible for working with the General Manager to oversee the daily marina operations including but not limited to the general operation of the docks, communication with Members and maintaining a safe and clean environment throughout the harbor and marina facilities. The Marina Manager will be in charge of leading day-to-day operations and management of the business in the absence of the General Manager

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversees the management of berthing, mooring, storage and servicing of boats within the marina
• Manage maintenance work done throughout the facility
• Daily inspection and maintenance to provide a clean and safe facility
• Hire, manage, train, and supervise teammates while leading by example
• Safely operates Marina owned marine and land vehicles
• Provide exceptional customer service for incoming boats and new and existing Members
• Coordinate and run Member events
• Sustain and optimize profitability, performance and guest satisfaction
• Assist General Manager with budgets, inventory control, and accounting principles of business
• Maintain positive relationships with tenants, contractors, and local authorities
• Manage Member communication through Mailchimp
• Manage Member contracts including contract preparation, COIs and processing in accordance with SHM standards
• Ensures that teammates, Members and guests observe all marina rules and regulations
• Availability to work overtime when required
• Ability to work weekends and holidays

Safety and Environmental Responsibilities

• Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training
• Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area
• Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately

Technical and Physical Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• 2-5 years’ marina experience preferred
• Ability to work safely around the water
• Must be able to swim
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Basic boat handling skills preferred
• Knowledge of dock construction and repair preferred
• Knowledge of basic power tools preferred
• Any skills considered standard that a Marina Manager should possess
