Job summary

Denver Public Schools is seeking a temporary Mariachi tutor for the 2026-2027 school year. Sessions run Wednesday (1 hour) for advanced students, Thursday for intermediate, and Friday for beginner students, 3:45-4:45 PM.

No prior Mariachi experience needed; music will be provided, and tutors must be versed in reading and playing guitar/viola, violin or trumpet. The role focuses on academic support, personalized instruction, and fostering confidence and performance in music while coordinating

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Spanish language skills preferred.
• 1–2 years of instructional support experience.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• No Mariachi experience required.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Commitment to equity and inclusive education.
• Must reside in Colorado and meet physical demands of the role.

About This Job

What You’ll Need

• High School Diploma / GED
• Bachelor's Degree - Preferred
• Spanish - Preferred
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience providing instructional support to students

• No prior mariachi experience is needed
