Job summary

Butternut Mountain Farm in Morrisville, Vermont is seeking an experienced Production Operator for maple syrup packaging year-round. This role offers a four-day workweek, with Monday–Thursday shifts and three-day weekends, and a starting rate of $21.40 per hour.

You will operate, set up, and monitor production equipment, ensure safety, quality, and accurate data entry, and cross-train across processes as priorities shift. Prior manufacturing experience is required.

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing or production experience
• Dependable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for a 10-hour shift
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Willingness to cross-train and learn new equipment and processes
• Ability to follow written procedures and quality requirements

Responsibilities

• Operate, set up, clean, and support food production and packaging equipment
• Monitor equipment, materials, product flow, and finished product quality
• Identify problems or inconsistencies and communicate them promptly
• Complete basic production records and data-entry tasks
• Support syrup handling, barrel washing, packaging, and related operations
• Move between tasks as production priorities change
• Cross-train on multiple processes and equipment
• Learn from experienced employees and train others as skills develop
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts for safer, more efficient work
